PRODUCT INFORMATION

INSTRUCTIONS FOR USE
The Omnifixo is full of features and so please take a minute to read (I know nah I will figure it out myself ;-)
I don't want you to miss any, give me 20 sec. I start with the with the ones you might easily miss...

Standard work mode

LOW MODE - Useful for microscopy or other work on PCB when its helpful to have a low working height and an object held horizontally.
Low mode
The magnetic foot also works like an electrical switch. Upside down it will connect to the surface it is attached to. If it is positioned on the etched "ring" on the base plate it is possible to measure or feed power through the base by connecting to the etched oval on the base plate. For ultra precise work the "upside down" mode provides less friction to the ball joint and thereby even increased precision.

LEAN BACK MODE - In this position the clamp can carry a lot of weight and the slider is parallel to the base and the jaws are vertical.
It is possible to attach a cable lug to the clip if you need to feed power (low power) or measure something.
  • It is possible to adjust the friction of the ball joint slightly, see here (link to blog)
  • The holes on the base are there to allow fixation of accessories or mods.
  • When soldering cables or heat sensitive object it is sometimes better to remove the silicone sleeves on the jaws to increase the heat transport.
  • If you get magnetic  particles attached to  the magnet the easiest way is to remove those is with a piece of tape.

CAUTION
Don't heat up the feet's/magnets  (e.g. put the product in a reflow oven) ABS plastics will melt and the magnets will be demagnetized.
Keep away from kids, small parts and magnets.
