Magnifiers

Quite often I get questions and magnification and if I'm planning to develop an Omnifixo magnification glass.

Honestly I had that in my plan but so far I'm not that happy with the results. I have tried and built a couple of magnification glasses but they are always in the way for the work and it is difficult to position them for the right focus.

As an alternative I have been testing different head loupes with and without light and with features for extra magnification. So far my favorite is the simplest, EDSYN head loupe with 2.5x magnification (ca 200mm focus distance). 

PRO

• Can use it with glasses on. 
• Light weight.
• Decent/good optics. 

CON

• Not super comfortable unless you tweak the head frame. My head might have an unusual shape, solved with a heat gun
• Pretty costly, around $60 (guess you pay for the optics because the "Head piece" itself looks very low cost

A nice bonus is that you really look like an complete idiot ;-) //Johann
